VubaRend is a universal tack coat and binder for vertical applications of aggregated systems up to 6mm in aggregate size and 10mm in application depth. VubaRend has been developed, formulated, and patented by Vuba.

The Basics

Apply Tack Coat

Apply a tack coat to your surface using a trowel—1kg covers approximately 1.6m². Create texture with a serrated squeegee to help aggregate adhere.

Mix VubaRend

Mix 1kg of VubaRend with 10kg of aggregates (either 1-5mm blend or 1-3mm). Mix until all aggregates are evenly coated.

Apply the Mix

Apply from the base of the wall upwards using very firm pressure at 6-10mm depth. Smooth the surface until satisfied with the finish.

800g to 900g VubaRend mixed with 10kg aggregate

Surface Preparation

Porous Surfaces

Apply an initial thin tack coat first, allow to soak in, then apply tack coat over the top as normal.

Smooth Surfaces

Apply Vubaprime EP-TC, broadcast with Vuba Grip Quartz at 65% coverage, cure overnight, then apply tack coat to the profiled surface.

⚠️ Important Notes

VubaRend is moisture-curing and more intolerant to moisture than normal binders. Do not apply in wet conditions. Do not use soapy water to clean the trowel - use Vuba Trowel Cleaner instead.
